John 5 Talks New Zombie & Solo Albums

   Guitar virtuoso John 5 (Rob Zombie, David Lee Roth, Marilyn Manson) called into The GuitCast recently and talked to the guys about the music business, his new solo album, new videos, Greatest Hits CD, live DVD, national solo tour and a new Rob Zombie album already mixed and mastered.

   Michigan born John 5 (John William Lowery) has a resume that reads like a who's who of Rock music. He's played with everyone from David Lee Roth, Marilyn Manson and Meat Loaf before settling ino Rob Zombie's band. When not touring the world Zombie he's recorded seven solo albums of his own with a new solo album on the way. 

   For the new music John says "what I wanted to do was put the songs on itunes but the video on youtube" and added "a record will come out to follow as well". For an album title he's leaning towards "Making Monsters", based on the idea of the old Aurora monster kits. He says the album will be another instrumental album stating "I already have a singer...he's [Rob Zombie] about as good as it gets". Backing up John on the new album will be Ian Ross on bass guitar and Rodger Carter on drums.

   A best of CD titled 'Greatest Hits Vol. 1' will be released on Halloween featuring 15 blistering tracks from 11 years of his solo work. The set will include a live DVD featuring concert footage.

   "John 5 and the Creatures" begin their tour on November 4th in Ramona, California.
